About the Artist

Annie Watson is a New York based painter that creates intuitive mixed media artworks. Combining various painting styles, her work explores inner motives like self-identity, release from bondage (real or imagined), healing and empowerment. 

Annie grew up in a single parent home, the youngest of 3 children, in Palmyra, NY. She developed an attachment to art and creating in her early years that was further cultivated through ongoing experimentation. 

With a creativity unlimited from what’s available, the materials for her creative practice would range from traditional art supplies to discarded household items. In her teenage years, her passion for painting would become a vessel to comfort and communicate, and she would receive first accolades from entering juried art shows.

Life experiences such as a tumultuous relationship and her early motherhood at 20 began influencing her work’s subjects, and she would start to explore inner themes like self-identity, release from captivity, healing and empowerment.
